The story kicks off with Special Forces Captain Yoo Si-jin (Song Joong-ki), a charismatic and highly skilled soldier, who apprehends a petty thief after a motorcycle chase. During the scuffle, his phone gets stolen, leading him and his loyal comrade Seo Dae-young to visit a hospital.

At the hospital, Si-jin meets Dr. Kang Mo-yeon (Song Hye-kyo), a talented and ambitious surgeon. Their first encounter is anything but ordinary—filled with misunderstandings, quick judgments, and undeniable chemistry. Mo-yeon initially mistakes Si-jin for a gang member due to his injuries and profession, while he finds himself instantly drawn to her strong personality.

As they spend more time together, sparks begin to fly. Si-jin, despite his dangerous profession, tries to pursue Mo-yeon, but their worlds couldn’t be more different. He lives by orders and secrecy, often disappearing without explanation, while she values honesty, stability, and saving lives.
